I went to the "Micbandits presents its a wrap" event last night, supporting Rez's work on producing and directing the official video for Micbandit's 'Cantik Rupamu, Hello'. First of all, the video was awesome, for Rez alone producing and directing it was totally worth it to check it out. I was even amazed that he got Joe Flizzow in the video too! The lighting, cast, some special background effects and camera angles were well organize and edited accordingly. Proud of you dude, you should've went on stage and give some comments hahaha.
There were other local talents as well performing namely projectunes, layzee clan, a band once, MNC, Khairy and one-d. A band once did an entertaining performance, too bad the mic for the vocals was too loud, can't really hear any of the background music. Beside micbandits, i would give the best performance to Juju of projectunes with the help of awg redja hahaha awal2 ndakutau rez ko atas stage ah, sandi~ Altimet of TehTarikCrew and MC David, vice of Cartel Records was also present to give their support for the newly signed cartel record's artistes, Micbandits. Everyone waited anxiously for the video which was the climax of the night. Prior to that, Micbandits perform various track from their latest album, which i must say I would'nt mind to download the album, eh salah, bali :P What i like most about them is their music. The beats they produce is simple, classy and in lots of ways, different, from the typical genre of Brunei music which i term 'Brunei Pop'. When i say 'Brunei Pop' I mean songs that have complicated electronic background music. Its just me. Another thing i want to comment is the dancers. Hands down they can breakdance, like proper breakdance. The only thing was, the dance moves weren't synchronize properly. Ada jua yg usulnya siuk sendiri, ada yang macam alum makan but well-done for those who gave their best. The event ended with Altimet's new single 'Syukur' while the dancers freestyle and battling it out. Awesome thing was that the single premiered for the first time last night here in Brunei! Lawa lagitu lagunya~
Was a great night nevertheless, click here for the photos of last night's event. One thing did made my night, kinda like the cherry of a cake. I was with shauqi and aiman cerita2 when sal of a sudden someone tagur aku from behind. It was Altimet and he was like " Excuse me, can i take a picture of your shoe"
Aku bangang for a second and said " yeah sure...". in a ttr manner.
Then aku singkap my jeans and still quite surprise for a superstar who's taking a picture of my shoe so i ask him again, "are you sure dude?" and he replied "yeah2" while focusing on my shoe with his digicam. Seriously awesome, superstar ambil gmbar kasutku, teharu ku ehhhh :P:P:P hahahahah.
Latky, I just wanna say again congratulations to Micbandit's for being artistes of Kartel Records and to Reza, hope you have an awesome future in cinematography. Now the song is stuck in my head...hellaw~~ hahaha
