On the way we speak

Do u realize that when we meet other races/ tourists/ nationals/ foreigners especially from the neighboring countries, we tend to imitate the way they speak or use their slang. Biggest example if a Bruneian meets an Indonesian, we always say or reply in an Indonesian slang or better, their language. Why not the other way around? This caught my attention when i was at the gym earlier in the afternoon. An average Bruneian gave me tips on lifting free-weights and for the first few secs i thought why in the globalwarming world is this guy not speaking properly with me. Then baru ku teklik ia pikir aku cina. So he was speaking to me like 'itu angkat basi ah naik tidak payah control, go down baru control bagi big muscle'. Dlm atingku sada kh org tuha ani. No offense to chinese tho, not being racist here, just clarifying my point. So i thought, the next time I'm meeting any other race in the country, I'm gonna speak like the average Bruneian. If ia nda faham ku alter sja sikit2 but not the whole lot hahaha i hope i could do that :P Another thing i realize is bring a Bruneian, our tongue is so flexible that we could pronounce and speak other dialects, slang and languages easily and fluently. Bruneians could well speak in a Malaysian or Indonesian slang but its hardly the other way around. Well there was a particular Malaysian friend of mine during my kent years who always hangs out with the Bruneian group and towards the end of the year, altho a bit karau, his bruneian malay was very good. Kudos dil lol.
