Say it and mean it

Ramadhan...what a wonderful month. The thought of the rewards we are given in this blessed month. I'm really sad that it's gonna be over soon. True. I'm sure you all feel that differential feeling between this month and all other months, the feeling within you that you're not tainted by any of the devil's doing.

I've been looking into some of my friend's progress and changes on how they wanted to be close to god. Read their blog and it was, in lots of different ways, help me a lot. The things i read was definitely pure knowledge and most of the times, a guide for myself to be a better person. All i can say is for myself, La Illa Ha Illa Anta Subhanaka Inni Kuntu Minazzolimin. Day by day im pursuing and striving to be one step closer to god and ask for forgiveness, at the same time ponder on how magnificent it'll be to feel the spiritual uplift within you, especially when reading the Koran.

I think the first step is to be knowing what you're saying, and mean it. I've been reading the Koran from I was around 9 or 10, perfected my reading by the year. Biasalah blajar tajwid skulah ugama and read Koran arah rumah kawan. So yeah, I'm sure im eligible enough to teach anyone else how to read the Koran =) But honestly just this year it struck me that I'm still lacking in discipline. Yes i can read the holy book but do i know what it means? Wouldn't it be better if I know what I'm reading? Then i can have a deep thought for every single ayah i finish. This lead me to think of my solat. Of course we do solat five times a day. And of course we try and try our best to get the best khusyu solat ever. Its difficult without a doubt. I'm sure time puasa anith, angan2 tia: apa pakai sungkai krg ah? Apa baik ku buat lapas terawih? Lepak lah sma c bui and etc. So yeah, that essential understanding of what we're saying is quite vital. Imams cry for a reason when they recite pieces of a surah, there's a whole new meaning to it.

I think I wanna venture towards that path. I believe little by little I should be getting there. I think it all started when i started to wonder why is the Al-Fatihah is mostly used? Dlm solat, before doa, sebelum tidur and plus its the first surah in the Koran. And why do people say 'Amin' after finish reading it? My curiosity lead me to search for its meaning. It did answer my questions perfectly.

Best starting point will be with the surah that I usually recite in my daily solat... On another note, I think it would be more awesome if i start to learn arabic hehehe sng ku becommunicate with arabs bila naik haji or umrah + easy understanding of the Koran. My guru always said to me that if you have the time, learn arabic before learning any other language. Not saying to those who took extra language classes and learnt some other foreign language is wrong or utterly useless. Jeles juaku kadang2 mendgr org brunei fluent in Japanese or French etc but I hope I do learn arabic. Masuk MFA post ke abu dhabi ni :P Longshot but its a goal nevertheless.

Anyway I thought I just wanna share with you guys. Its nearly 3am and now lets eat some leftovers for sahur hehehe kes malas masak.
