The wonderful holiday part 1

Thank you everyone for all the bday greetings, too many wall posts n messages to reply but thank you, it really meant alot to me:)... n thanks for the prezzies hehehhe anyone who wants to give me prezzie is welcome, i dont mind even if u guys give me a pair of boxers hahahah but from my close friends i expect more lol. To my bro thanx for the t-shirt! Everyone, i got an exclusive roccus design shirt mwahahahah.

My holiday siuk this year. Its been tiring nevertheless. First was the new years celebration at the embankment near big ben. The fireworks were wonderful but the waiting was frustating and exhausting. We had to stand up from 9 pm and wait till midnight. The riverside was full with people flowing in non stop.

Kn balik semula membali some snacks pun fikir dua kali. Other local families were more than ready for the event with packs of bottles of alcholic drinks, big umbrellas and folded seats. Yes, umbrellas! for the continuous rain. The journey back home was even worse. Everyone was hurrying back, filling in nearby underground stations. The roads were full and yg bari sasaknya people who block the roads. We had to walk all the way from embankment to oxford circus's underground. I think skali cukup lah, the experience was worthwhile but only valid for one go. Next new year liat dri tv sja ih.
'We' + Qawi

The next day Lydia and I brought Nas, Fadz n Qawi to Emirates stadium and Stamford Bridge. Awed by emirates for the massive size and disappointed by the simpleness of stamford bridge lol.

I didnt slleep that night cos we had to take the 3.00am national express bus to gatwick airport for our holiday trip to venice and rome. Me, Lydia, Fadz and Nas had to pack everything early to avoid last minute chaos. The journey from zul's house (where we stayed) to gatwick went pretty well. Reached gatwick at around 4.30am.

In Gatwick we had a bit of a wait when checking hill. Apparently the counter-desk lady had doubts with our passports, pfff. Its our first time to Gatwick airport. The best thing there was the 2 cars on display: an Audi R8, the slowest car audi had ever built

and a lamborghini gallardo, knot to 60 in 4.0 secs. We had to wait

Being restless, i slept right after the plane took off. Then lydia woke me up and asked me to look outside. Its beautiful. I never seen such a wonderful view. I wish i could just have a parachute strap to my back and jump off the plane. What astonished me was the sheer greatness of the mountain range and how high the mountains are! Bear in mind the plane wasn't travelling on a lower altitude and from a normal view things down there look very small. This time its very clear indeed.

We reached venice international airport around 9am. Took a bus to our hotel from airport. Our hotel was Hotel Piave. Good stuff: Its near the mestre (train station) and easily accessible by bus. Bad stuff: Its on the mainland. In venice everything take place in the island. The island is the capital, the mailand is the suburb. So not to waste anytime (c nas ngusut dh ni kn tidur lol), we took off to the island right after everyone was ready.
The bridge connecting the island and the mainland was very long. Never had been on a bridge with such length. Even when i google it and check thru google map mcm kn kepisan bh panjangnya. At first i was thinkin to walk to the island....TEKARANG! Reaching the island we realised we had made a mistake; forgot to ask the receptionist in the hotel for a map. So balith map at the nearby tabachi (kadai runcit in italy). Our target was the St. Marco Square, the capital of venice. It was a wonderful walk to reach the square. Buses and trains had to stop right after it reach the island as only gondolas and other forms of boats are capable to transport people around the city.

From univeristies
To halal pizzeria, venice was complete with varieties of shops. The pizza was very delicious. Crispy crust but the rest is soft. NYAMAN! I bet the venetians make the best pizzas. The downfall in venice however was the price range of goods. Gondolas even cost 100 euros per trip and limited to only 6 people so you can stop wondering if you want to divide it among 10 people.
Venice is also famous for their art in making glass sculptures and the exclusive Venitian Masks. The masks are very detail and costs around 60-100 euros for a complete full-face cover mask. The price rises as the mask are decorated with gold linings and peacock style feathers. Just buy the plastic ones, they look real to me.

One of Venice famous landmarks, before reaching St Marco, was the Rialto Bridge. Built in the 16th century, it was the only way to cross the Grand Canal by foot until 1854 when the Accademia Bridge was built. Below is the picture of the Canal Grande from the top of the bridge

Posing jap
and here's the bridge itself.
The best part of the Rialto Bridge was the market. The arches on the bridge are converted into a store. There was a unique stall on the foot of the bridge. The guy was making candles from raw and i bought my mum one of them cos theres a rose design on it ( my mum is a rose fan). Not showing the candle here cos i kno ur reading this mum hehehe.

The market also sells italian made scarves and ties. I wanted to buy some for my parents but usulnya mcm overpriced and could easily found in Brunei jua at Nazmi or any textile malls. Fadz bought a pashmina tho, a really nice one. Tu pakainya ah hehehe. And to protect the ladies from too much shopping is the two bodyguards lol.

Following signs and walking further finally we reached our destination. The square or piazza, was very lively and its near the bay where you take the boats/ferries to the other islands. Below is the Basilica, the symbol of the city. The surroundings of the piazza was filled with restaurants, bars and fashion stores. In the middle of the bar there are stalls selling souvenirs. I only gt a keyring. Enuff udh tu for me heheh.

Come here to the bay and take the boat to Murano, the well known island for his blowing glass. Unfortunately we didn't have time. Besides we only stay in Venice for one night and our train to rome was early in the morning.

The Gondole drivers. And they're not bald.
As you can see from the pic above theres another building on an another island. Thats how fascinating venice is. They don't waste their islands. Mcm ada2 sja they wanna build on the extra islands. Below is the bell-tower with the famous 2 Moors. Rugi kami nda naik lah. They say you can see the whole piazza from up above. Huh~ masa2. The queue was panjang jua bah. Baikth explore more of venice.

Otw balik we found a ferrari store and they had an actual F1 Ferrari car, lawa berabis. No wonder McLaren is just eating the dusts mwahahah. But seriously, they are.

I took this for my fren Teo in Glasglow and c Kel of BruHall. If im not mistaken they were selling undies lol nadabah.
Overall the trip to venice was siuk. Beautiful and wonderful. It was really cold tho. Berangin. Biasalah near the river. We ate dinner in a nearby ristorante. I didn't take any pics cos the pastas weren't really good. MASIN! i dont know whether its me or its the way the venetians cook their food. I think its just too much seasoning. Ada lagi service charge tu. Anyways this is to be continued. Next post will be on Roma. Till next time.
